fist time blogging :)

hi everyone... its my first time blogging...so bear with me. i dont know what to do. so i think im just suppossed to write. so i will. i love baking and cooking for my pets. it is really fun. it is a great way to let go of negative energy and anger. and it is fun to see what i can create. i have been cooking for my pets and friends pets for a long time, but just now i decided to start bloggin about it. if anyone is out there reading this, i have some recipes i will share with you as the time goes by. lately, it has been getting very cold here in olmsted falls and i have been making bran mashes for our horses. dakota, out miniature horse gets about 1 cup of bran, maddie, my pont get about 3 and dancer, our horse gets alot (5-6). i serve them warm on really cold days and the horses seem to love them. i have a recipe for each horse.

dakota's simple mash:
1 cup bran
1 cup hot water
1 carrot, sliced tiny

boil water (or simmer) and mix in with bran. top with sliced carrot and serve when cool enough to eat.

maddie's delish bran mix 'n mash:
3 cups bran
1&1/2 cups hot water
1 apple, quartered
1 pinch sugar
1 cup apple sauce
1/2 cup oatmeal

combine all ingredients with hot water and let cool for a few minutes. serve to horse when it cool enough to eat!!!

dancer's senior mash:
6 cups bran
4 cups hot water
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 carrots, diced
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup soybean meal

once again, combine all with really hot water and feed when cool enough to serve and eat.

please remember that bran mashes whouldnt be fed more than once a week becuse too much bran can cause a inability to take calcium into the bones. i feed bran mash every sunday usually. horses arent used to steaming hot foods, so it is best to feed mash warm, and not hot. i hope these recipes help! thanks for reading today!
